Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh said Saturday that tens of thousands of people in the Gaza enclave have been killed by US weapons, with US rockets, and under US political protection.

During his latest visit to Turkey, Haniyeh said in an exclusive interview with Anadolu that the US position regarding this war is deceptive. Even though it says it does not want civilians to be harmed, this is an attempt at manipulation because all the civilians killed in Gaza were killed with US weapons, with US rockets, under US political protection.

When Haniyeh was asked about the implications of the US veto on the ceasefire resolution at the United Nations Security Council, he stated that it means that the US is giving full protection to the continuation of the massacres against Gaza people.”

He also claimed that Washington’s veto against the establishment of a Palestinian state at the United Nations Security Council provides a political protection for Tel Aviv’s action and opposes the rights of the Palestinian people.

Haniyeh, in addition, called on all brokers counties to prevent any possible military operation by the Israeli army in Rafah, saying it could lead to a bloody massacre against the Palestinian people.

Meanwhile, he reinstated that if the Israeli army entered Rafah, Palestinian freedom fighters would never raise the white flag and would bravely resist the attacks.

Regarding the current negotiation, he emphasized that Israel has rejected all ceasefire proposals submitted through mediators. “All it wants is to take back the prisoners and then resume the war in Gaza, and this is not possible,” he added.

The Israeli army must adhere to full pullout of the Gaza enclave. Israel also does not want the displaced people to return to northern Gaza. It accepts a conditional and gradual return and this unacceptable.

“It’s the US that does not exert any pressure on ‘Israel’ and is also preventing an agreement, concluding that “as soon as ‘Israel’ accepts these demands, we will be ready to reach the agreement.”
