Israeli Forces Destroy Gaza’s Largest Medicine Factory in Deir al-Balah

The municipality of Deir al-Balah reported on Saturday, April 20, 2024, that the Israeli occupation forces have targeted and destroyed the largest medicine factory in the Gaza Strip, situated in Deir al-Balah.

In a press release received by Days of Palestine, the municipality of Deir al-Balah confirmed that Israeli warplanes directly struck the prominent medicine factory located in the Salah al-Din neighborhood.

The attack took place during an incursion by the Israeli occupation forces into the eastern area of Deir al-Balah, in the central of Gaza Strip.

“The deliberate targeting of the medicine factory is part of the occupation’s systematic assault on the Palestinian health system,” the statement read.

It also added that the occupation forces initiated this campaign by targeting hospitals and health centers, rendering them inoperable. Additionally, they have been targeting various buildings, roads, infrastructure, medical personnel, ambulances, and civil defense.

The municipality emphasized that this intentional targeting of the health system by the Israeli occupation “is part of the Zionist policy aimed at emptying the Gaza Strip and making it uninhabitable.

It continues the systematic destruction of all sectors that would strengthen the Palestinian presence on the land.
