‘Israel’ Must End War for Hostages to Be Released, Hamas Confirms

Hamas’s spokesperson Sami Abu Zuhri reinstated the movement’s demand that ‘Israel’ has to end the war as cornerstone of any deal in order to have Israeli hostages in Gaza released.

Abu Zuhri’s remarks came after the leaders of the 18 countries, including US President Joe Biden, called for the immediate release of all hostages held in the enclave without speaking of other conditions.

Hamas on tongue of its spokesperson said it will not back down on its demands, including a permanent end to the war, the withdrawal of Israeli occupation army from the Gaza enclave, the full amd unconditional return of Palestinians to all areas of Gaza, especially to the north, the end of the 17-year blockade siege, and lifting restrictions on humanitarian aid flow.

The leaders of 18 countries emphasised in a statement that the deal on the table to release the hostages would bring an immediate and prolonged ceasefire in Gaza with the facilitation and delivery of a surge of necessary humanitarian assistance and credible end of hostilities without mentioning other Hamas’s conditions.

The statement text was inked by the leaders of the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Argentina, Austria, Germany, Bulgaria, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Spain and Thailand.
