Scores of Palestinians were injured on Friday afternoon, August 11, 2023, as Israeli occupation forces cracked down on the weekly anti-settlement protests in the occupied West Bank cities of Qalqilia and Nablus.

Rubber bullets were fired and tear gas was deployed by Israeli troops, causing injuries and suffocation among the Palestinian demonstrators.

In Nablus, confrontations escalated near the Jabal Sabih area as Palestinian youth ignited rubber tires in close proximity to the “Avitar” settlement outpost on the mountain’s peak.

Meanwhile, in Beit Dajan, situated east of Nablus, a number of journalists and activists fell victim to tear gas, including Nasr Abu Jeish, the coordinator of the factional coordination committee. He was brutally assaulted during the suppression of the weekly event condemning settlements.

Israeli forces forcibly suppressed a demonstration in Beit Dajan, where protesters demanded the reopening of a village entrance that had been closed for years due to settlement encroachment.

In Qalqilya, four Palestinians sustained injuries from rubber bullets, and numerous others experienced gas inhalation due to clashes in Kafr Qaddum.

The weekly march against occupation took place in Kafr Qaddum, demanding the reopening of a village street that has remained shut for an extended period due to settlement-related activities.

Every Friday, Palestinians in the West Bank are uniting in protests against the relentless expansion of Israeli settlements that continue to encroach upon their lands.
