Remembering Saudi National Day – Middle East Monitor

Cristiano Ronaldo marks the 93rd Saudi National day in full traditional Saudi attire. In a video released by Saudi’s Al Nassr FC, the football star is seen performing the Ardah folk dance alongside his teammates, yielding a ceremonial sword and wearing a white thobe, red and white ghutra, and black bisht. The Portuguese player joined Saudi club Al Nassr FC in December last year and has since moved to live in the kingdom. Saudi National Day commemorates the founding of the modern Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 23 September 1932 by King Abdulaziz Ibn Saud. It is an annual celebration in the kingdom marked by nationwide festivities, parades, cultural performances and fireworks.
