Israeli Occupation Forces Shoot Mentally-disabled Palestinian Youth in Qalqilia

Israeli occupation forces shot and wounded a Palestinian youth with mental disabilities on Friday night during clashes that erupted in the West Bank city of Qalqilia, local sources reported.
The sources said that Israeli occupation forces fired live ammunition at Palestinian protesters near a military checkpoint at the southern entrance of Qalqilia, hitting a young man in his 20s with an explosive “Tutu” bullet, which is designed to cause maximum damage to the target.
The injured youth was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. His condition was not immediately known.
The clashes broke out after Israeli forces raided the city and searched several homes, sparking anger and resistance from the residents.
Qalqilia is one of the most isolated Palestinian cities in the West Bank, surrounded by Israel’s separation wall and several illegal settlements. The city has witnessed frequent confrontations between Israeli forces and Palestinian youths, who protest against the Israeli occupation and its violations of their rights.
