Israeli Occupation Forces Demolish Palestinian House in Lod

Israeli occupation forces IOF demolished Tuesday, August 22, an inhabited Palestinian house in Lod city in the 1948-occupied Palestinian territories under the pretext of building without a permit.
Palestinian eyewitnesses reported that a large number of Israeli troops besieged the area around the house and prevented its Palestinian inhabitants from accessing it. Then, they started demolishing it.
They said the house contains two floors where two whole families lived in.
The house owner Talib Abu Lubda said the house was built decades ago, and the Israeli occupation refused to licence it despite all the family’s attempts in Israeli courts.
He indicated that the appeals to stop the demolition were rejected, and this is not the first demolition of the house.
The Israeli occupation uses a variety of tactics to push Palestinians out of their homes and destroy their properties in order to expand illegal settlements on their lands, using many false excuses, the top of which is “building without a permit.
According to a report by OCHA in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, Israel demolished, confiscated, or forced Palestinians to tear down 54 buildings in East Jerusalem and West Bank Area C in July only, resulting in the displacement of 66 Palestinians and the loss of nearly 800 livelihoods.
