Israeli Forces Demolish Al-Araqib Village for the 122nd Time

Israeli occupation forces, supported by a large contingent of Israeli forces and the “Yoav” unit, demolished on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, the Palestinian village of Al-Araqib in the Negev desert for the 122nd time.
The Israeli forces entered the village and forcibly evacuated Palestinians from their homes at gunpoint before proceeding with the demolition.
During the demolition, confrontations erupted between the occupation forces and the villagers, who resisted the demolition efforts.

Each time, the people of Al-Araqib rebuild their homes using makeshift materials such as corrugated metal and tents, reaffirming their resilience and determination to remain in their ancestral lands rather than succumb to the policy of attrition pursued by the Israeli authorities, aimed at uprooting them from the village.
Recently, the Israeli court issued a ruling claiming that the village of Al-Araqib was built on “state-owned land,” thus stripping Palestinians of their ownership rights.
Al-Araqib is just one of over 42 Palestinian villages facing an Israeli displacement plan aimed at relocating their populations into one centralized area to facilitate land seizure for settlement projects.
