Death Toll of Israeli Aggression on Gaza Strip Reaches 1,799

According to the Palestinian health ministry’s statement released on Friday, 13 Oct, 2023 over 1,799 Palestinians have lost their lives. This heartbreaking figure includes 583 children and 351 women who have fallen victim to Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip.
Additionally, the ongoing Israeli air raids have left 7,388 people wounded, among them 1,901 children and 1,185 women. Deputy Health Minister Yusuf Abu al-Reesh of Gaza has revealed that a concerning 60% of those injured by Israeli airstrikes in Gaza are women and children.
The dire state of medical facilities in the blockaded Gaza Strip has further exacerbated this crisis. Hospital resources are depleted, and essential medications and medical supplies are running dangerously low.
The situation has persisted for seven consecutive days, during which Israeli warplanes have carried out numerous air raids targeting civilian homes and critical infrastructure, resulting in a high number of casualties and extensive damage.
Shockingly, 14 health institutions, including the Ministry of Health building, the Rimal Clinic, and the International Eye Center, have been directly hit by the airstrikes. Additionally, 15 ambulances have been destroyed by these attacks, making it even more challenging to provide emergency medical assistance.
The airstrikes have caused the tragic loss of members from 28 families, 10 health workers, and eight journalists, underscoring the scale of the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza. The situation is compounded by fuel shortages and electrical outages that are affecting vital generators.
In this dire context, the health ministry has urgently called for the establishment of a “safe corridor” to ensure the swift delivery of critical medical aid to the overwhelmed hospitals in Gaza, where the deceased and injured are in desperate need of assistance.
