1100+ Palestinians Displaced Amidst Escalating Settler Violence

A report issued by the United Nations revealed today, Monday, September 25, that over 1100 Palestinian citizens have been forcibly displaced due to the escalating Israeli settler violence against the Palestinian people since 2022.
Israeli settlers conducted 1614 assaults on Palestinians during the same timeframe, leading to Palestinian casualties and extensive damage to their belongings and property, the UN report stated.
As per the report, the monthly average of settler attacks reached 80, marking the highest figure ever documented by the United Nations since it commenced monitoring these violations in 2006.
It clarified that this data was collected through a humanitarian needs assessment conducted by the United Nations in collaboration with its humanitarian organization partners across the occupied Palestinian territory during the previous August.

“settler violence has continued to increase throughout the West Bank over the past years,” said UN in its report.
It also noted that, on average, there were three settler attacks per day in the first eight months of 2023. This stands in contrast to an average of two attacks per day in 2022 and one incident per day in the preceding year.
The report emphasized the critical necessity of protecting defenceless Palestinians from escalating settler violence and actively pursuing measures to halt Israeli attacks against Palestinians.
